ELECTRICAL ENGININEERING MALAGA TEP177

Description

This research group specializes in the control of power coverters for their use in engines. Their work has numerous applications in wind and solar power, as well as engines for electric cars, boats, etc.

Research Topics

  • Control of FACTs (Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System) and electronic interfaces with a power grid.
  • Control of inverters and polyphase machines to be used in boats and electrical vehicles.
  • Development of real-time control techniques for power inverters. Applications in: -Wind power. -Solar energy. -Electrical vehicles.
  • Implementation of power inverters as harmonic synthesizers in active filters.
  • Implementation of reducing harmonic systems and harmonic compensators.

Scientific-Technical Services

  • Design of control techniques of electric drives: - Vector control. - Direct torque control. - Predictive control.
  • Design of control schemes for electronic converters (inverters) in FACTs, renewable energy and motor control applications.
  • Guidence on the use of polyphase motors as an alternative to the three-phase.
  • Production of interactive software in the learning of electrical engineering (electrotechnology, termperature sensor circuits etc).
  • Research on thermal behaviour of a three-phase induction motor.
