Description

The group studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate embryonic development,tissue homeostasis, and responses to injury, with a particular focus on the cardiovascular and nervous systems. The researchers have made previous contributions in the field to understanding coronary vessel formation, the identity and plasticity of cardiac endothelium, the role of the epicardium in cardiac development and repair, as well as the molecular mechanisms underlying neurogenesis and neurological disease. To address these questions, the group combines experimental models of development, regeneration, and pathology with advanced methodologies in molecular biology, genomics, single-cell transcriptomics, bioinformatics, microscopy, and three-dimensional tissue analysis.
