LIQUID PHASE: CHEMISTRY AND ENGINEERING FQM252
Description
The research group Liquid Phase: Chemistry and Engineering of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Science centers its academic research activities on material behaviour. Various lines of investigations cover a broad spectrum of compounds from light hydrocarbons to oils. The latter moved into focus for a project to identify a mixture, which generates a stable oil allowing for worldwide exportation. Further studies concentrate on the adaptation of industrial installations to comply with occupational risk prevention legislation in force.
Research Topics
- Mass transfer (evaporation, distillation, etc.)
- Oxidation of hydrocarbons.
- Epoxidation of unsaturated organic compounds.
- Oxidative rancidity of oils.
- Rheological behaviour of foods.
- Mixture of lime and cement fillers with a size of less than 60 ?m and asphalt mastics.
Scientific-Technical Services
- Chemical process engineering design, e.g., chemical reactors.
- Safety of industrial installations.
- Liquid-phase, chemistry and engineering laboratory.
