MICROBIOLOGY AND HEPATOLOGY CTS277
Description
This research group Microbiology and Hepatology specializes in the application of molecular biology techniques in the diagnosis of diseases such as AIDS, H1N1flu commonly known as swine flu, meningitis or hepatitis. For this they use different tools such as the PCR reaction (polymerase chain reaction). This group is leader in the study of HIV drug resistance in western Andalusia.
Research Topics
- Implementation of molecular biology techniques to diagnosis.
- Monitoring of treatment.
- Epidemiology of infectious diseases: -Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE). -The study of outbreaks of diseases.
Scientific-Technical Services
- Diagnosis of diseases such as: - AIDS. -Meningitis. -H1N1 flu (swine flu). -Hepatitis.
